Old-fashioned fun and tradition are two of the things that make a summer vacation on Cape Cod so special. These days, when attendance at a pro baseball game can be a budget-buster for families, you still can enjoy a dose of the boys of summer by attending a Cape Cod Baseball League game, where donations are encouraged but not required. The not-for-profit league is dependent upon contributions and sponsors and exists to provide low-cost entertainment for families.
According to their motto, since it was founded in 1885, the CCBL has been “where the stars of tomorrow shine tonight.” The league is comprised of 10 teams with all-collegiate members. As many as 1,000 CCBL alumni can be found playing in pro leagues at any one time. The season runs from mid June through mid August.
Games begin at 7 p.m. at Eldredge Park in Orleans.
